AREAS AFFECTED: Rabun; Habersham
DESCRIPTION: At 750 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles northwest of Clarkesville, or 5 miles southwest of Lake Burton, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Lake Rabun, Lake Burton, Tallulah Falls, Batesville, Seed Lake, Lakemont, Tallulah Gorge State Park, Turnerville, Tiger, and Clayton.
INSTRUCTION: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
