DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is occurring. * WHERE...A portion of east central New York near the Mohawk River, including the following counties, Albany, Saratoga and Schenectady. * WHEN...Until 1115 AM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of low-lying areas near the Mohawk River is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1111 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported an ice jam causing flooding and the closure of Rosendale Rd between Mohawk Rd and Niskayuna Rd. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Schenectady, Cohoes, Scotia, Alplaus, East Glenville, Halfmoon, Groom Corners, Vischer Ferry, Aqueduct, Rexford, Mohawk View, Grays Corners, Dunsbach Ferry, Crescent and Crescent Station. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Cirrocumulus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrostratus Clouds

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
