DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois, including the following counties, in north central Illinois, Boone and De Kalb. In northeast Illinois, McHenry. * WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1001 PM CDT, Multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms produced up to 2 to 4 inches of rain. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills, McHenry, Belvidere, Woodstock, Huntley, Fox Lake, Harvard, Island Lake, Marengo, Poplar Grove, Genoa, Johnsburg, Lakemoor, Spring Grove, Wonder Lake, Lakewood, Pistakee Highlands, Cherry Valley and Prairie Grove. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

INSTRUCTION: A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. The final form taken by a growing cumulus cloud is the cumulonimbus cloud, which is very tall and dense. The tower of a cumulonimbus cloud can soar 23 km into the atmosphere, although most commonly they stop growing at an altitude of 6 km.

Even small cumulonimbus clouds appear very large in comparison to other cloud types. They can signal the approach of stormy weather, such as thunderstorms or blizzards.

Drizzle is precipitation in the form of water droplets which are smaller than raindrops.

Drizzle is characterized by fine, gently falling droplets and typically does not impact human habitation in a negative way. The exception to this is freezing drizzle, a condition where drizzle freezes immediately upon reaching earth's surface. Freezing drizzle is still less dangerous than freezing rain, but can potentially result in hazardous road conditions.
