Ohio River at Cairo affecting Mississippi, Pulaski, Carlisle, Ballard, Hickman, Alexander and Fulton Counties. Ohio River at Olmsted Lock and Dam affecting Ballard and Pulaski Counties. .Levels on the Ohio River continue to fall, with Olmsted and Cairo forecast to fall below flood stage by Saturday night. For the Ohio River...including Owensboro, Newburgh Dam, Evansville, Henderson, Mount Vernon, J.T. Myers Dam, Shawneetown, Golconda, Smithland Dam, Paducah, Olmsted Lock and Dam, Cairo...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Ohio River at Olmsted Lock and Dam. * WHEN...Until late this evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 36.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this afternoon and continue falling to 23.2 feet Monday, May 05. - Flood stage is 36.0 feet.

Cirrocumulus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrostratus Clouds

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
