AREAS AFFECTED: Brown, TX; Coleman, TX; McCulloch, TX; San Saba, TX

DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Brown, Coleman, McCulloch and San Saba. * WHEN...Until 130 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1133 AM CDT, radar indicated slow-moving showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rain over southern parts of Coleman and Brown Counties, into the northern part of San Saba County. Rainfall of 1-2 inches has already fallen, and an additional half to one inch of rain is expected. Flooding of low-lying areas, low water crossings, and street flooding in towns is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Winchell, Trickham, Mercury, Brookesmith, Rockwood, Elm Grove, Waldrip, Gouldbusk, Skeeterville, Voss, Whon, Milburn, Us-283 Near The Mcculloch-Coleman County Line, Shields, Indian Creek, Mozelle and Locker. - This includes the following Low Water Crossings... CR 201 crossing Clear Creek, crossings along County Road 302, County Road 222 crossing Home Creek, County Road 201 crossing Clear Creek, crossings along County Road 228, County Road 440 crossing Spring Branch and crossings along County Road 246. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A wall cloud forms underneath the base of a cumulonimbus cloud, and can be a hotbed for deadly tornadoes.

Wall clouds are formed by air flowing into the cumulonimbus clouds, which can result in the wall cloud descending from the base of the cumulonimbus cloud, or rising fractus clouds which join to the base of the storm cloud as the wall cloud takes shape.

Wall clouds can be very large, and in the Northern Hemisphere they generally form at the southern edge of cumulonimbus clouds.

Altostratus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrocumulus Clouds

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes (between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes water vapor to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.

In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.
